Based in Ornavasso, in the Italian Alps, architect and maker Riccardo Monte works at the threshold of design and art. Having returned to his alpine roots after a career in London, Monte pursues a slower, deliberate creative rhythm. Guided by a deep respect for the raw character of wood, techniques such as hand-carving and traditional timber charring allow the trace of the human hand, time, and living texture to remain fully visible in every piece.
